Hours: 1 PM to 5 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Location: Our small museum space and archive are located in the Living Room space at the San Geronimo Valley Community Center at 6350 Sir Francis Drake Blvd. San Geronimo, CA 94963.

Getting There: We are located almost directly across the street from the Marin Transit stop at Lagunitas School Road and Meadow Way which is served by routes 68 and 125.

Parking: Park in the San Geronimo Valley Community Center parking lot, then visit the East Wing of the SGVCC building.

Reading Library:

The books in our small library are available for reference on special occasions.

Computer Access:

Plans are in motion to allow visitors to make use of our library computers to enjoy the sgvhistoricalsociety.org website and associated content.

Permanent Collections:

  • Jim Staley Collection:

    Valley historian Jim Staley has generously donated his materials relating to the railroad history of the Valley, the Valley’s early development, and more.

  • Lagunitas School District Collection:

    This display features the history of the Lagunitas School District from its origins in the early settlement of the Valley through its present location at the heart of the Valley.

  • Coast Miwok Collection:

    The Coast Miwok Collection gathers all specific available information on the first peoples of the Valley in an effort to honor their deep history and roots in the area.

  • San Geronimo Ranches Collection:

    All of the land in the Valley of today was at one point part of a ranching operation. This permanent display recognizes and honors that history.

Rotating Collections:

The museum hosts rotating exhibits on a semi-annual basis.
