San Geronimo Diseño - Digital Commons at CSUMB

  • California State University Monterey Bay has digitized the Spanish and Mexican land grant maps that define the areas granted to Spanish and Mexican citizens. These maps were not made with the benefit of later surveying tools, so instead often relied on ridge lines, natural landmarks, and homesteads to define their boundaries.

San Geronimo Valley Community Plan (1997) - County of Marin

  • The 1997 San Geronimo Valley Community Plan is a guiding document created in a collaboration between Valley community members and county planning officials. The plan describes a vision for the area that aligns with the views of residents and that adheres to the guidelines set forth by the larger 1973 Countywide Plan.

Marin County 1973 Countywide Plan - County of Marin

  • Marin’s 1973 Countywide Plan divides the county into three major planning zones: a City-Centered Corridor, an Inland Rural Corridor (which the San Geronimo Valley is a part of), and a Coastal Recreation Corridor. The adoption of this plan was the result of much activism and advocacy on the part of Valley residents, and preventing a multilane highway from running up and over Dickson Ridge near Roy’s Redwoods, among many other large scale developments.
